Jennifer Garant

Jennifer Garant

Jennifer Garant began her artistic career at the age of three with “closet drawing’. That is sketching on closet walls with black markers in her home town of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. These first endeavors were inspired by her mother about whom Jennifer says, “Everything she touched she transformed into something of beauty”. She soon emerged from the closet and won her first poster competition in second grade. Her career as award-winning artist had begun.

The start of her formal art education was in 1977 at the College of Marin near San Francisco, and she continued her studies at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. In 1986, she won the Expo ’86 watercolor competition held during the 1986 world exposition in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Jennifer is also widely known for creating the largest mural in North America, commissioned by the Vancouver General Hospital for their new tower. It consisted of 21 panels and was 14 feet high and 36 feet long. Jennifer worked alone for 6 months forty-feet above the ground. Another credit came in 2003, when she won The Bronze award for “The Art of the Bistro Wall Calendar” for best contemporary art. Currently Jennifer is working with her husband Taddio on some collaborative art in addition to her own projects.

She has been featured in many magazines and publications, including Home and Garden, who did a television program featuring her artwork. Jennifer’s work is bright and inspiring and has been valued and commissioned by collectors around the globe from public and private organizations to corporations and celebrities.

Highly respected by her peers, Jennifer’s work is being shown and collected by prestigious galleries in over 80 countries around the world along with over 1000 licensed products. Her whimsical chefs, ladies and other characters have traveled far and wide, and it is sure to keep growing in popularity and appeal.
